Abstract
References

This case report discusses the health challenges and lifestyle considerations of a 64-year-old female patient with recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs), obesity, type 2 diabetes, and a history of psychiatric issues. The patient’s UTIs have persisted since her hysterectomy for cancer, often recurring after antibiotic treatments, raising concerns about antibiotic resistance or possible immunosuppression. Her BMI of 37.5 kg/m2, limited physical activity, and high caffeine intake further contribute to her health risks, including potential complications in diabetes management and wound healing. Additional factors in her medical history include familial hypertension, vision issues, and kidney disease.
To address these risks, a lifestyle medicine approach is recommended. This includes dietary changes focusing on the Mediterranean diet for weight management, increased physical activity, and enhanced mental health support through mindfulness practices. Routine monitoring of blood pressure, glucose levels, and infection status is essential, along with patient education on recognizing early symptoms and proper wound care. This holistic approach aims to manage her chronic conditions and improve her quality of life.
Key Words: lifestyle medicine, family health center, student of medical faculty.
