Osteoporozda Ağrı ve Yaşam Kalitesi
Özet
Osteoporoz; hastayı artan kırık riskine maruz bırakacak düzeyde kemik gücünde azalma ile ortaya çıkan bir iskelet sistemi hastalığıdır. Kemik gücü; kemik yoğunluğu ve kemik kalitesinin bileşimini yansıtır. Bu hastalık yaşam kalitesi ve sosyo-ekonomik yönden giderek önem kazanmaya başladığı için sebep olduğu kırıklar sonucu mortalite yüksekliği ile dikkati çeken, fiziksel fonksiyonlarda ciddi kayıplara yol açan, kronik ağrıya yol açması ile de yaşam kalitesini olumsuz etkileyen ve giderek sosyal izolasyona neden olan kronik bir hastalık olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Günümüzde Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (DSÖ) tarafından osteoporoz; giderek artan prevalansı, fiziksel ve psikolojik etkileri ve hem kişiye hem de toplumdaki sosyal ve ekonomik maliyeti nedeni ile önemli halk sağlığı sorunu olarak sınıflandırılmıştır.
